2009-Conference on Ancient Copper (0041-2009-Conf)

2009-Conference on Ancient Copper

1st AAPS CONFERENCE
on ANCIENT COPPER!
It Went GRREAT! Lots of Positive Replies
  Houghton/Copper Country, MI July 10-12, 2009

It was suggested by our Vice President, Glenn DeVlaminck, since so many want to learn more about copper, and want to see Copper Country sites, that we could have another, smaller conference in early July, in the Copper Country. We’d have just one afternoon & evening of talks and two-plus days of excursions to such as: MTU Mineral Museum, Copper and mineral shops, copper pits, mining museum, petroglyphs, etc. From Houghton, to Ontonagon,  all the way up to Copper Harbor. We’d stay in a Houghton motel, and bus or caravan to the sites, and hold the speakers program in the High School Auditorium where Fred has been invited to speak several times.  Limited to 40 people, for caravan-ing to some remote sites.  Robert Wheeler of Houghton, will be key in helping this to happen. Please, if you wish to participate in this special event, let us know now to give us an idea of the level of interest among our people.
